Belinda and her husband Jerome live in Genadendal.
Their son, who is studying at the University of Potchefstroom and was at home for the holidays, complained that he was always craving his mom’s cooking, specifically her baked treats.
Belinda thought that rusks would do the trick and decided to use a good friend’s old family rusk recipe; adding her own little “twist” to it. The results were a hit with her son and then her family and then her friends.
They encouraged her to start selling her rusks at the local market.
After a bit of deliberation, Jerome and Belinda decided on a name and Aunty B’s Baking was born. Supplying rusks that are home baked and hand-made using locally farmed ingredients.
Belinda believes that the deliciousness is in the details.
Aunty B’s Baking currently makes two kinds of rusks, namely a health and a buttermilk rusk in 500g and 1 kg packages.
